THE LEGACY OF Adán Hernández

October 15, 1951 - May 15, 2021

Adán’s story could have been written in Hollywood: a young dreamer, an emerging artist, discovered by a renowned film director.

But behind that seemingly magical moment was a long road — filled with struggle, sacrifice, and doubt.

Through it all, Adán never stopped believing in one thing: su arte — his art.

It was his voice, his truth, his way of seeing the world.

We began working with Adán in 2013, and from the start, his passion was contagious.

Every piece he created carried his spirit — bold, raw, and deeply human.

When he passed away in May 2021, it felt impossible to go on.

Yet we knew that one day, we would return to celebrate him —

not just the artist, but the friend, the visionary, the force that moved us all.

Adán is survived by his children, Adam, James, Italia, and Clayton, his siblings, Gloria, Robert, David, Ruben,

Armando and Humberto, grandchildren, and all those whose lives were transformed by his vision.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Olivia, his sister, Rosemary, and his wife, Debbie.

This website (launched in January 2026) is our tribute to Adán — a dedication to the godfather of Chicano Noir,

the groundbreaking art movement he invented,

to one of the most distinctive and influential artists of his generation,

and one of the greatest artists of our time.

We miss you every day, homes.
